Just in: 🚨Eminem Turned Down Tour With 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, And Dr. Dre For Touching Reason… See more 👇👇
He is a very valid reason, however.
50 Cent has been doing a marathon of interviews on every major hip-hop radio station in the US and his latest stop was at Big Boy’s The Neighborhood. They spoke for an hour and spent some time discussing 50’s rise in the game, which of course is due to his relationship with Eminem. After Big Boy asked about their relationship today and the kind of stuff they talk about, 50 reminisced about a proposed joint tour with him, Em, Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg.
According to 50, Em was the one who had reservations and ultimately turned him down. Around the 30-minute mark of the interview, 50 explains, “You wouldn’t believe how much money we would have made. And Em was like — there were so many dates at the time we pitched the tour to him — that he was like, ‘I just don’t want to go on tour and when I come back Hailie is all grown up.’”
While it’s hard to imagine a more understandable reason for Em to turn down the tour than to spend more time with his daughter and watch her grow up, deep down, 50 may have been a little upset about the missed opportunity. Not only would it have been a wild experience to perform with these legends at the height of their rap career, but 50 has repeatedly emphasized how massive the payoff could have been.
He said the initial plan had mapped out a “ridiculous amount of dates,” which could have ensured that “when you come back, everybody has the money to not have to work anymore.” When pressed to estimate a specific dollar amount the tour could have grossed, 50 responded, “collectively, over $100 million.”
Considering all the successful business ventures that followed for 50 in the aftermath (not to mention the royalty checks), I think it’s fair to say that our hearts aren’t breaking for him over this lost cash. However, we can feel sorry for ourselves for never getting to see what would have been an incredible show.
